"Steppin Out With My Baby"

Things are looking up in Kazakh land. Leah and Davis slept through the night. Davis woke up in a great mood and no diarrhea today! Leah has eaten like a king all day. She even ate an entire big cookie all by herself! She loves beef stew, mango, and blueberries. I have found she likes chunkier food rather than pureed. The baby food is very limited here.

We even got a chance to play today! We went to the indoor playplace at the Teckhodome. This is the mall that a few doors down from the Nurdulet mall. It is a great place for kids and was cheap. Davis played for 1.5 hrs for $4! He really needed some social playtime given we have been cooped up in the apartment for so long. We were approached by 3 small children begging for money outside of the mall. We saw their mom in the parking lot telling them to keep begging. So sad. Leah is adjusting wonderfully. She is eating well, napping great, and happy as can be. She loves to giggle, make funny faces and can imitate anything you do. She is already clapping hands and trying to say “bye bye.” We have found the trick to her sleeping. She likes to put herself to sleep. We just lay her down in the cradle and she cries for a minute and then is out. I think she has also gotten use to us and the apartment because before she tried to climb out of the cradle and now she doesn’t. It’s amazing how fast you learn what makes a child tick!

I have learned a lot in the past few days about raising 2 kids. Leah is at a demanding age and Davis requires a lot of attention in different ways. I can’t imagine how the girl who has the fourteen kids is going to manage.
