The Final Countdown

Unfortunately, I could have written the blog first thing when we woke up this morning. We did nothing today! Davis threw up again last night right as Ainura walked in to have Milon sign the Adoption Certificate and Birth Certificate. He woke up at 4am with a high fever. One thing I now know is to always bring liquid Motrin and Tylenol. I brought the chewable kind and didn’t realize how uncooperative toddlers are when they are sick! I had tested the chewables out at home and he did fine with them, but he wasn’t this sick. In order to get medicine in him, I had to give him Leah’s infant Motrin and Tylenol. We had to give both at the same time (along with cold face cloths) in order to get his fever down. We did adjust the dose for his weight….although his weight is similar to an infants! He hasn’t really eaten in 3 days and looks like a bag of bones! He slept most of the day. His fever has stayed down this afternoon but around 4:30 he threw up again. We started him on the antibiotic Carver suggested so hopefully, we will see some improvement soon. We think he may have gotten some shower water in his mouth and has traveler’s diarrhea.

Milon left for Almaty this morning. He is staying in a hotel until his flight leaves at 4am. He doesn’t have the computer so he will have a long day watching Russian TV. He left Davis a surprise under his pillow when he was sleeping. Davis was excited to get a few toys.

While Davis slept, I played on the internet and my mom read a book. We started to watch the movie “I am Legend” but Davis woke up mid way through.

We got a cradle today for Leah to sleep in. It isn't exactly a crib but maybe it will work. I can’t believe we are getting her tomorrow afternoon! It seems so surreal. We are very excited although hope Davis is on the mend. Her coming home outfit (and of course snowsuit) are already picked out. See below. We are making fajitas tonight and drinking a glass of wine celebrating my last night as a parent of only 1 child!
